Overview
Big Bertha: a 13L 12V oven with two elements
Almost twice the cooking space of the standard Road Chef, with a top element and a bottom element you can run together or separately. Roast for the whole family, bake scones, crisp a pizza, all straight off your 12V battery.
Anderson powered, marine-grade stainless steel, and built with heavier mounting brackets for serious touring.

A third dial lets you choose which element does the work, just like a good home oven.

Big inside, still easy to fit
Inside, Big Bertha measures 308mm wide, 282mm deep and 150mm high, with two telescopic racks that slide out to reach your food. Outside it's only a little bigger than the standard Road Chef at 362 x 255 x 297mm and about 8kg.

Power
Anderson only, for good reason
Each element draws 10A (120W). With both running, Big Bertha draws 20A (240W), which is more than cigarette and Merit sockets are made to carry. So it comes with an Anderson plug only, and has an internal fuse for protection.

Realistic expectations
How it heats
Big Bertha is very efficient for a 12V oven, but it isn't a 240V oven. Plan your cooking around these times:
- ✓About 20–30 minutes to reach 150°C
- ✓Then roughly 10°C more every 10 minutes
- ✓Full temperature after about 50–60 minutes
- ✓More food, or frozen food, means longer cooking times
Preheat on the road and your oven is ready when you pull up.

Made for corrugations
- ✓Longer, heavier mounting brackets with three securing hooks and two attachment holes
- ✓Insulated on five sides with fibreglass, so the outside stays below about 40°C in normal conditions
- ✓Double-wall door with a silicone inner for better heat retention
- ✓Marine-grade stainless steel throughout
The door can still get hot over long cooks or in poorly ventilated spaces, so take care.

Can I use a cigarette socket?
No. Cigarette and Merit sockets are usually wired for about 10A and can overheat. Big Bertha uses an Anderson plug only.
