Why fuse your solar
Protect the cable, not just the panel
A short or a damaged lead on the roof can draw far more current than your cable is rated for. A fuse close to the panel cuts the circuit before the cable overheats, protecting your wiring, your regulator and your rig.

Choosing a rating
Match the fuse to your panel
Pick a rating just above your panel's short-circuit current (Isc), printed on the label on the back of the panel. As a guide, 15A suits most single panels up to about 200W, and 30A suits larger panels or two panels in parallel.

Which fuse rating do I need?
Choose the next rating above your panel's short-circuit current (Isc), and make sure it is no higher than your cable's current rating.
Where should the fuse go?
In the positive lead, as close to the panel as practical.
Do I need one for each panel?
If you run two or more panels in parallel, fit a fuse to each panel before they join.
Can I replace the fuse?
Yes. Unscrew the holder and fit the spare fuse supplied.
Does it suit 24V systems?
Yes. It suits 12V and 24V solar setups.
What is in the box and what is the warranty?
One fuse connector with the fuse fitted, plus one spare fuse. It is covered by a 12 month warranty.
